Shalom! My name is David Cohen. I was raised in
Chicago by a Conservative Jewish family that kept kosher
(in the home) and observed a Sabbath dinner. At the age
of ten, my parents took my three sisters, my brother,
and I to Israel for the summer. At that young age I
developed a real sense of connection with the land of
Israel and my Jewish identity. I returned to America a
Ba'al Tshuva.
In 1994, my brother and his family moved to Israel and I
followed in 1998. I studied in Yeshiva in Har Nof for
two years before buying a house near my brother in the
lovely town of Ma'ale Michmas. After six months of
looking for more substancial income, I decided to use my
business degree and former experience with pizza in the
States. I also felt that establishing a local pizzaria
would benefit the town and the many soldiers passing
through to the large army base nearby. Through the years
it went from a simple pizza take-out to a diner which
also offers falafel, ice cream, snacks and sweets.
